Moorebank. Qube to press ahead

Qube Logistics expects to start talks soon with the Defence department on its relocation from part of the proposed Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance (SITMA) site, at Moorebank, which the department rents from the private consortium. Qube, which owns two-thirds of SITMA.is going ahead with the proposed terminal, despite plans by the federal government to build a competing site nearby. Qube expects to get planning approval for the proposal from the NSW government by the end of the year, according to The Australian Financial Review.

All this talk about going ahead with the intermodals when the Environmental Assessments have not been completed.Total disregard for the health and social well being of Liverpool residents is being displayed by both the major political parties. There are too many reasons why massive freight terminals should not be built so close to residential areas, not to mention the local roads that will suffer.
