Region. $72 million for new buses

The NSW government it will place a $72 million order for the first 100 of the 1,000 new buses to service Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and the Blue Mountains. “We will be talking to the private sector right away and calling on them to deliver the first 100 buses as soon as they can in the next financial year. It is going to be a challenge for them but we have the funding to make it happen and will be asking them to get on with the job,” Premier Kristine Keneally said.

Parramatta. Servcorp returns in July

The serviced and virtual office group, Servcorp Pty Ltd, proposes to return the Parramatta CBD, in July, with the opening of 13 offices, on level one of The Octagon building, at 110 George Street. For many years Servcorp resided nearby, at 91 Phillip Street, in premises now operated by serviced and virtual office entity, Westcorp. Other Servcorp facilities in the region are located in North Ryde and Norwest Business Park.

Region. $5000 study award for women

Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA), which aims to attract more women to choose a career in the manufacturing and automotive industries, is offering a $5000 study award, together with a chance to share their success story at MSA’s 2010 National Conference. All women currently working in the Australian manufacturing and automotive industries are encouraged to apply.
