Parramatta. Company fails but still invoicing

The Parramatta-based family-owned, Wincrest Homes, is invoicing customers after the company was placed in voluntary liquidation, in December, ceasing the construction of 130 homes. Administrator, Bruce Gleeson, of Jones Partners, said customers have to pay up if there were no “genuine disputes” about the work. “This position has been supported by the Office of Fair Trading,” he said in The Australian Financial Review. Earlier, Mr Gleeson told creditors at a meeting at the Crowne Plaza. a proposal was being developed by the company’s directors to continue trading. He will meet creditors again on March 3 to continue trading or go into liquidation. The company has debts of $12 million.
